ABOUT
Hi Everyone!
I love people,
I love laughter,
I love helping others.
I love being creative.

Thinking about what my style as a graphic designer is a little on the difficult side in that I really don’t want to limit myself to a certain look. I would hope that my style is good but I know that really not what the question is. I love bright colors, cute illustrations, clean simple lines. I like minimalism. I was given that challenge as a project in an advertising class a couple of semesters ago. As it was definitely hard to scale back the way that I was used to designing a poster, I really enjoyed the finished product.
If I think about art styles that I tend to favor, it would be art deco for sure. I love the glamour of the 1920’ s. It has so much personality. Sometimes I don’t even realize I have used the colors and typefaces that reflect art deco, or as I call it...the great gatsby style. I would say that it influences a lot of what I do.
I also will always be influenced by life events, I worked in the FOH of many restaurants for about 15 years of my life. From the hostess to the server, to bartender. I truly enjoy designing menus, ads, upcoming events for local eateries. I learned so much about the industry as well as customer service while serving people their next meal. You may think well, that’s not the influence that the question is referring to but it does seep into much of what I do. Either the knowledge about how things are run or prepared is truly a process that I relate to. Knowing the colors people respond to or the catchy phrases that draw attention are things I fall back on when designing for the public.
