When things get slow…….well, I’m not really sure how that would be because I have never really experienced slow. Even in this time of shelter-in-place I have had things to do and get done.
One thing that I have had the pleasure of doing that is to design a wedding announcement for my brother and his new wife. They got really frustrated in trying to plan a wedding for this fall due to all of the covid19 restrictions. Venues were reluctant to allow them to reserve spaces. No restaurants could confirm that they would be able to serve food. So…...they told my parents, her parents, and myself the Sunday before they got married on Friday. My brother’s best friend, who is an ordained minister, married them. So with the minister and his wife, and the immediate families we had 9 people in attendance and the restriction was a group less than 10. Barely allowed to do what did. But it was incredibly sweet. But now they need an announcement to let everyone know what they so spontaneously did.
My brother immediately turned to me and asked how quickly I could do it. All I said was after finals. Well here we are…..after finals and I have designed a few options for them to choose from. I was able to choose from many of the pictures we got from their ceremony and place them into a size that would be easy to mail out. They are planning to do a celebration in a year so we wanted to make sure that folks knew about that date and place to make sure they marked their calendars. I think that designing invitations and announcements are something I will always fall back on. They are so much fun to do. I totally enjoyed putting their personality in their announcement.
Therefore, anyone that reads this needs an invitation or announcement, I would love to get you and your guests ready for an event. I would be delighted to design for them.
